About Mark
Mark Liddle is an inspiring figure whose life story is a testament to the power of resilience and determination.
Residing in Hamilton, New Zealand, Mark was born with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC), a condition causing stiff joints, and faced significant challenges from an early age, including childhood teasing.
However, he refused to be defined by his limitations. He channeled his energy and focus into building a successful career, becoming an award-winning sales executive.
Mark's personal life is equally fulfilling; he is happily married to Lynne and has two wonderful children.
Beyond his professional life, Mark is a talented watercolour artist, creating commissioned pieces specializing in New Zealand native birds.
And if that isn't enough, Mark is also an accomplished singer, having featured as a lead singer in the Hamilton Gospel Choir, and in a local entertainment duo.
His physical journey is also remarkable. After struggling with mobility and facing the prospect of leg amputation, he found renewed hope in specialized braces.
These braces transformed his life, enabling him to walk pain-free and even conquer incredible physical feats, including completing a 12km traverse in the Auckland Marathon.
Now, Mark is sharing his story in a book, driven by a passion to educate people about AMC, encourage others to defy perceived limitations, and combat bullying.
He hopes his experiences will inspire readers to embrace their own strength and create a more inclusive and understanding world.
